The 5th British Beard and Moustache Competition was hosted by iBeardclub in association with The Whiskers West Midlands with headline sponsor Honest Amish. The British championships is a biannual event which alternates with the World championships. The next event hosts will be Devon & Cornwall Beard & Moustache Championships and the South West Beard Club. Paul Ford, from Launceston in Cornwall, won first place for full beard and moustache under an inch in length. “After our previous events we took a little break, and then Covid forced us to take a longer break,” said Mike. “We just want everyone to have a good time, and help us raise plenty of money for our chosen charities, the Devon and the Cornwall Air Ambulance Trusts,” added Mike.

Things could be getting a little hairy across the border next month when one of the most unusual competitions in the UK comes to Plymouth.

There’s many different categories of beards and moustaches, including Short Beard (think ‘Action Man’) and the crazy creations of Freestyle. From waxed curly moustaches to big bushy beards, all competitors are judged against others of similar styles and sizes. “There are categories for adults and children to compete with a handmade beard, or you can just come along and cheer for your favourite competitors.” The Braw Beard and Moustache Championships as you know and love them.
